Job Description

Senior Helpers is hiring new caregivers to join our Boise Treasure Valley team! The office offers in-home help to seniors in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Middleton, and the surrounding areas. We are hiring full time Caregivers travel in the service area. Client appointments are booked throughout the week.

Home care, assisted living, personal care, or senior support experience is a plus. There may be entry-level positions for candidates with transferable experience or those who have cared for a family member, after completing the required hiring steps and training.

Annual Salary: $42,000 – $53,000 a year

Experience: Entry Level to 2 years of experience

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred 

A Typical Work Day

Client schedules developed by local office. Depending on the client’s care needs, some visits may be a couple of hours, and some may be a full shift.

Work often includes:

  • Make breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
  • Helping with dressing and grooming.
  • Helping clients to move safely around the home.
  • Conversation and companionship during visits.
  • Doing light housekeeping duties.
  • Doing laundry, washing dishes.
  • Shopping for food or household items.
  • Providing transportation for clients to appointments (part of the care plan).
  • Document care tasks completed prior to end of each visit.
  • If the client’s condition changes, contact the office.

This position is not a function to perform medical procedures unless explicitly authorized under applicable state requirements.

What the Office Looks For

The hiring team prefers applicants who are punctual, have good communication skills, and treat clients with patience and respect.

Caregivers who are successful typically show:

  • Reliability
  • Good observational skills.
  • Confidentiality of client information.
  • Communication specialist.
  • Follow the written instructions for care exactly.
  • Can work on a daily basis with little or no supervision.

CNA, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Assistant or Companion Caregiver experience is a plus, but not needed for all openings.

Job Shifts Information

We’re here to care for our clients 7 days a week.

Possible assignments include:

  • Morning visits.
  • Day shifts only.
  • Work at night.
  • Nighttime care.
  • Weekend hours .

Shift availability is based on client needs and caregiver availability. Additional hours may be available as we add new clients.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $42,000 – $53,000 depending on scheduled hours, experience and assigned cases.

Recruitment Requirements

To be eligible for getting a client assignment, applicants should typically be able to demonstrate that they have:

Valid government ID.
Legal authorization to work in the US.
Valid driver’s license for driving assignments.
Reliable automobile.
Existing car insurance while transporting the customers.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Elementary English reading and speaking.

Nature of the Job

Work takes place daily in various parts of the client’s home and support is provided with everyday household tasks.

The position may involve:

Standing for extended periods.
Walking around the house.
Carrying shopping bags.
Where permitted by the care plan, assist with transfers.
Lifting light household items. Bending. Reaching.

Physical demands will vary based on the specific requirements of each client.
